RITES OF PASSAGE JOURNEY …. celebrating the cycles of life
In traditional cultures Initiation and Rites of Passage marked transitions enabling people to mature and grow up in healthy ways.
Rites of Passage type experiences can weave a strong and enduring fabric within our lives. They acknowledge the Journey we are on and create a foundation for a meaningful, compassionate and fulfilling existence.
Life is meant to be a gentle blossoming....
Moving from childhood into puberty there is an opening of physical, psychic and spiritual bodies. How these changes are integrated can have an affect on us that can last a lifetime.
Sometimes things happen to us while growing up – like a death of a parent, divorce, a serious illness, abandonment, cruelty, abuse of some kind or another. Sometimes our changes go unrecognised. For some people this neglect deeply affects our development. Many of us move on unscathed, some of us carry a wound into our adult lives. Sometimes these experiences can hold back our human development.
Many of us were not welcomed as we moved from childhood into puberty. Some of have unresolved feelings about this.
This Rites of Passage Journey is full of possibility. A simple and yet powerful process that takes us back and then moves us forward again with a sense of newness, relief and power.
In this Rites of Passage Journey you can:
- experience your own life’s Journey, - discover if there are places you may be stuck, - honour the changes at every phase of your life, - take back the power which is your birthright, - have your life’s Journey witnessed and celebrated, - understand your place in Life’s Mystery,
For those of us who did not undergo growing up challenges in a safe and sacred way our growth may be stunted. We may not achieve our highest potential. With Initiation processes our Journey can be easier.
This experiential three-hour RITES OF PASSAGE JOURNEY is for adults who may have missed out. It can take you to a new level of freedom and understanding.
Questions to explore:
How mature do you feel?
Who helped to define you as a man or a woman?
What experiences assisted you to define that for yourself?
Will you become an old man or women or a WISE one?
Can you see yourself becoming an elder in your community? Would you know how to do this?
FOR PARENTS
The Rites of Passage Journey assists parents to acknowledge transitions in the lives of their children. They can bring appropriate ritual and celebration assisting children to know where they are now and where they are going. Children can be given new responsibilities as they move toward, through adolescence and into young adulthood. There are many opportunities for valuable ritualsin life.
Becoming fully adult reaching our highest potential can take a lifetime.
Experiential work is easier to absorb rather than intellectualising about it. Amrita Hobbs, TEACHER!!! Understatement! Guides, helps, respects individuality in life’s rich tapestry. Highly recommended. Fiona, Australia
Amrita's Workshop was excellent! It was very simple, but very deep. I am not a professional psychologist and I can't describe the Rites of Passage Journey from a professional point of view, but for me it was like a Miracle! We did some simple things and after that I felt that one very important part of me have changed… I work on this problem in rebirthing and many other processes and I can't integrate it… but Amrita helps me a lot. I expected a list of sample Rites from other cultures and possible resources regarding our lost Rites. I received, to my delight, a personal and edifying journey and a new resolution in my life. Matt, Australia
Once I fully accepted being the only man in the ritual circle, which included some discomfort, I was able to enter with full and joyful attention into the process. I experienced Amrita’s totality of prescence as acceptant love. I went deep within myself quickly. I was delighted to be met there by the lovely women of the circle. The three hours was a perfect blend of quietly being in reflective mode and actively witnessing and being witnessed. I felt nurtured yet extended. A rare combination. I challenge more men to step into this work. It is of great importance. Eric, Canada
The Rite of Passage Journey was an enormous vehicle in helping me to accept menopause and to release a lot of anger. It brought me understanding and joy in the past, the here and now and in the process of aging. Since the ritual I created during the workshop, my hot flash fires have diminished greatly and have lost their intensity. Iam sure that the two are connected. Margaret Katz, Canada
