When the Goddess work became popular it was the last thing I thought I would do. I am not one for jumping onto popular bandwagons.
So how did it happen?
In Estonia in 2005 at a Global Inspiration Conference I attended a workshop and there was dancing at the end. I was struck once again at how rigid some women’s bodies are. There seems to be little freedom of movement. Little joy in the sensual aspect of the body in dancing... I love to dance! In my training as a Drama Teacher we had opportunities to have movement and dance. In my early years in Australia I taught creative movement classes.
I decided to offer a one-hour dancing workshop for women. There was a lot happening at the conference and when one of the big events ran late I didn’t expect women would show up. I casually went to the workshop… I was surprised to find sixty women waiting for me. That says something!
We had an amazing time. The roof almost lifted! We danced those hip joints loose. By the end the room was HOT! Some men came to me the following morning and asked me what I had done to their wives – they were smiling.
I suggested to the women that the following evening we could be involved with the men in a ritual. They admitted to feeling fear about this.
A ritual healed the sensual and sexual aspects of women AND men. The men had been prepared for their part. There were about 240 conference participants. The dancing that night went on until the wee small hours. Many inhibitions were released. It was incredible!
I had never facilitated anything of this nature with so many people before.
The ritual had such a profound effect on me I was deeply changed. In fact it was three months before I facilitated another workshop. It took that long to integrate what happened.
It was out of this experience that these two workshops evolved.
The Goddess Dances Focusses on the body as a divine dancing sensual and erotic gift. Looks at the influences in our early life that inhibit this aspect of our being. If you love to dance or would love to dance this is for you. For more go here.
Reclaiming the Goddess Allowing our emotional vocabulary to become activated and enlivened. Exploring
what stops us from expressing ourselves – shame, cultural
conditioning, low of self-esteem, fear of touch, lack of intimacy.
For the woman who wishes to: * be cleansed and feel renewed, * release what is in the way of living her Divine Feminine Nature, * go beyond her edge and break down barriers to free expression, * love herself fully, * connect with her feelings and allow free emotional expression.
These workshops have a similar theme with a slightly different emphasis.
