RECLAIMING THE GODDESS
When the Goddess work became popular it was the last thing I thought I would do. I am not one for jumping onto popular bandwagons. So how did it happen? In Estonia at the Global Inspiration Conference, I attended a workshop where we danced at the end. I was struck at how rigid some womens' bodies are. There seemed to be little freedom of movement - no joy in the sensual aspect of the body. I love to dance! In my training as a Drama Teacher we moved and danced often. In my early years in Australia I taught creative movement classes.I offered a one-hour dancing workshop for women. There was a lot happening and a big event ran late so I didn’t expect women to show up. I casually went to the room and was surprised to find sixty women waiting for me.That says something! We had an amazing time. The roof almost lifted! We danced those hip joints loose. By the end the room was HOT! Some men came to me the following morning and asked me what I had done to their wives – they were smiling.I suggested to the women that the following evening we would be involved with the men in a ritual. They were terrified. A ritual healed the sensual and sexual aspects of women AND men.
The men had been prepared for their part. There were about 240 conference participants. The dancing that night went on until the wee small hours. Many inhibitions were released. It was incredible!I had never facilitated anything like this, with so many people before.
I was deeply changed. The ritual had such a profound effect on me and it was three months before I facilitated another workshop. It took that long to integrate what happened. It was out of this experience that these two workshops evolved. The Goddess DancesFocuses on the body as a divine dancing sensual and erotic gift. It explores the influences in our early life that inhibit this aspect of our being. If you love to dance or would love to dance this is for you.
