YOUTH make comments about the creation of a YOUTH CENTRE
This is what teenagers have to say generous hearted millionaires:
This is a really worthy cause. If I had two million dollars, even if I did not have any other money I would give it to this and go and live there and help run it.
To know that there is somewhere that we can go to if we needed it. We could have a sanctuary from the rest of the world for a while.
To know there is a place where we would be loved and accepted - no matter what. Blessed be! Area 7 - second class citizen. You could call it Amrita's corner.

I would get down on my knees and beg him or her because I know there is a lot of teenagers who do not know themselves or their parents and NEED to!
If the opportunity was there they would take it.

I guess that a space that is specifically designed for what is going to be done. I would help with anything that is going to happen.
It would have enough room for a certain number of people and work more easily.
It would be a place to go if you have troubles, somewhere that you would feel comfortable and safe.

The Centre would create a safe place, where any teenager could deal with any problem, however serious in a completely safe environment.
If you could see a teenager with a lot of problems who is being destructive or suicidal or depressive, it would raise questions. What can we do to stop this crime rate, drugs and alcohol addiction, or whatever?
A Youth Centre like this is a good way of getting to the root of why these problems started and why they developed.
From my experience of a camp I am now a person that can give back to the community as much as I take. I will not overly take or give too much - creating a balance, and harmony.
I've heard some pretty awful stories and it saddens me that there‘s so many kids out there that have had stuff like that happen to them!
It happens so much, they are so good at hiding that no one else has any idea. They can take it out on everyone around them and themselves and people see their destructiveness as destructive and not a cry for help
PEOPLE DO NOT SEEM TO CARE!
THEY DON NOT LOOK AT WHY THE PROBLEM IS CREATED IN THE FIRST PLACE.

A Centre like this will be the physical manifestation of Amrita's drive and the love of those people who support it. These comments have been made by teenagers and parents. Give them money and lots of it. This is the greatest idea since sliced bread!

IMAGINE a great community centre where youths can live together in a peaceful environment, you can get kids off the streets, kids with drug problems and those that have problems at home can be safe by living in this environment. Please give to this fund.

WHAT ADULTS HAVE TO SAY:
Children are the essence of our civilisation.
If they are clear then the world is clear.
This indicates my feeling about how important clarity and right education is for the growing child. It's always been my understanding that Amrita's work endeavors to clarify the true understanding of adolescence and the rightful purpose in our evolving lives.
The most important lesson I learnt while at Findhorn was that we can spiritually actualise an environment that points towards a true and practical application of the process of growing up.
Amrita's Youth Centre would offer the possibility of this unfolding.

I feel that one of the great sadnesses of modern life is the limiting of love...
Without love and affection there can be too much pain, too little understanding. Many of our young people today unfortunately don't get enough. It's the one commodity we are lacking. We are mistakenly paying too little service to this most natural emotion... Love is the key to happiness, fulfillment and our true purpose in life, whether that love be physical or emotional.
Programmes such as this one, are often dealing with the kids that are in need of good old fashioned love and affection, which gives them a sense of purpose and direction in their lives. Without love it can appear to young people that things are much less than they are. The great thing about love is that it's one commodity that is naturally there for us... it is limitless.
