A VISION FOR A YOUTH CENTRE

It's time on the planet for BIG CHANGES - Amrita is calling like hearted/minded people to join her in creating a Youth Centre. She has had this vision for many years, a permanent home base for this work, a true heart centre for young people and the adults who live there.

Coming together with others will engage forces for this dream and long term vision to become a reality.

Community living

The intention is to create a community lifestyle which supports a different way to live. A place where a loving, fulfilling way of life is possible.

The Centre will be a place where people, young and old, can live, visit for a while and return to, to reconnect, realign, recharge.

It will provide a model for a new way of life; aiming at honesty, peaceful, open communication, harmony, reconnection to nature, integrity, productivity, self-sufficiency, personal responsibility, freedom, expression, creativity, balance, sustenance, self-love.

True individual expression will be encouraged and allowed. Children growing up in their true and natural state. They will learn through discovering.

It is a peaceful, beautiful natural environment. A home for young people, especially those who do not fit in or feel like they belong in society as it is.

People of all ages will have an experience of living in REAL community. By that we mean a place where people are encouraged to be who they truly and authentically are. A place where young people and children belong; and are given a supportive environment in which to learn and grow. Healing childhood trauma is one aim. Another is to assist young people to fulfill their potential and their dreams.

In the work that Amrita does, young people find renewed hope very quickly. By living example, we assist to expand the possibility of a fulfilling way of life, in the minds and hearts of young people.

THE BUILDINGS AND LAND

Wet we will have approximately 200 acres. We imagine that someone will donate the land for this worthwhile purpose.

The land will sustain the aims of The Youth Centre easily. There will be cleared land, older dense forest, running creek, waterfalls and swimming holes. A permanent supply of fresh water.

The land will have a feel of isolation, for the deeper healing work and connection with nature to happen.

Buildings designed to be energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

Gardens and orchards will promote sustainability.

PARTICIPATION IN THE YOUTH CENTRE

There are a number of different options for young people to participate in Youth Centre activities and programs. These include Work Training Programs, ongoing workshops for teenagers, parents, teachers and youth workers and entertainment evenings.

There will also be short and long-term residential options.

We plan to organise annual Youth Conferences, making cutting edge presenters and their ideas available to youth from all over the world.

* Ongoing Workshop Programs
There will be both residential and one day programs
These workshops provide opportunities for healing, empowered communication, environmental awareness, relationships and sexuality, gender related issues, childbirth and parenting, creativity and writing etc.

An important focus are Rites of Passage, Initiation and alone time in Nature - this is missing in the lives of many people. Experiences in Nature offer a powerful way for connection and transformation.

Time alone in Nature, personal processing, education and mentoring programs can be part of the preparation for young people to experience mature adulthood.

See stories in Rites of Passage from young people about how there time in Nature affected them.

YOUTH ACCOMMODATION

At the Centre we could accommodate young people for varying lengths of time.

* Short term residential .
Teenagers who could benefit from time out from everyday life:
* for reevaluation and reflection,
* to relieve dysfunctional family situations,
* if they are self-harming.

This type of accommodation is available for teenagers who are ready to participate in their own growth and if necessary to become in their own healing process.

We would offer a reeducation process around communication, relationships, responsibility etc. Young people would be required to attend workshop, to contribute to a work program by assisting in workshops, gardening, orchard care, office support etc.

The short-term residential situation would also be available for GIFTED YOUNG PEOPLE looking for support to express their uniqueness.

* Long term residency
This would be offered to selected young people who had already participated in a number of other programs at the Centre
They would live cooperatively in youth houses for prearranged, and negotiable periods of time.

Young people staying for longer would have options to:
* become involved in all aspects of sustainable community life;
* be included in outreach programs within the community and in schools;
* gain support to fulfill their own dreams;
* become permanent members of the community.

All decisions about a young persons stay would be community based and negotiated with each individual.

* Entertainment Evenings
One role of The Youth Centre is to provide a positive cultural program for local and visiting youth. Enriching and uplifting entertainment for young people organised by and for them.

* Week-long Festivals
At least once a year there would be a major Festival. This could attract young people from all over Australia and the world.

Speakers and workshops, covering all relevant aspects in young peoples lives, would be invited.

* Work-for-the-dole.
All kinds of projects could be available for Australian young people in the local community to work-for-the-dole. An emphasis would be on becoming self-sufficient and autonomous and finding work that is fulfilling, therapeutic and useful in the community.

* Work and Training Programs
Participation in work and training programs, for resident as well as nonresident young people.

Providing support.

Adults and teenagers are invited to participate who choose to create such a community, orientated towards spirituality, wholing (as well as healing) and a new paradigm in the way we educate ourselves and our children.

To create a Youth Centre of this magnitude will require all sorts of people to respond.

We can change the statistics!

Why should any young person take their own life.
Why should any child experience abuse of any kind?
Why should anyone be undermined, put down, feel unloved in any way?
Why do we bring children into a world and then harm or neglect them?

These are the questions that Amrita's work sets out to address..

We are seeking people who would like to be actively involved in this project and provide for the ongoing support of youth in this way.

Renewed hope for youth!

CORPORATE BROTHERS AND SISTERS

We innate people in the Corporate world to align with us. Companies whose staff may participate in our workshop program or retreat with us for a time.

Staff who have teenagers would benefit from the programs we offer. Companies are invited to contact us if they would like to share their skills and resources. We can co-create a Youth Centre.

Are you a Friendly Millionaire?

This is an abundant World. There is enough to go around. More people who have accumulated great wealth are opening their hearts and sharing their resources to make this a better World.

People are realising that money is not going to make anyone happy when it is sitting in a bank.

We would be happy to speak with millionaires or other benefactors who would like to make the Youth Centre possible

Also those who may be interested in contributing to THE GETTING REAL FOUNDATION which aims to assist young people to fulfill their dreams.

Join us and inspire young people so that they know that generosity exists in the world.

That their dreams can come true.

TRUSTING

We TRUST that what is necessary to bring The Youth Centre into being, will be gifted to us, from a place in peopleÕs hearts that is unconditional love. That people who feel called to support young people at this crucial time in the evolution of our planet will contribute to this vision.
